Why every listing leads with a number

A harness sold by breed is a harness that fits about half the dogs it is sold to. Two labradors can be eight centimetres apart at the chest, and that is the whole difference between a harness that holds and one the dog backs out of on a road.

So every walking item here is described by the adjustment range the maker states, and the product page says to measure the chest at its widest point. It is a slower sale and a much smaller return pile.

Grooming tools are not interchangeable

A slicker, an undercoat rake and a finishing comb do three different jobs, and using the wrong one is how coats get damaged. The sections here are split by tool type for that reason rather than by animal.

Where a tool is unsuitable for a coat type, the description says so before you buy rather than after.
